Rhodes Tours

Panoramic Rhodes City

  • Discover the highlights of ancient and modern-day Rhodes during this picturesque orientation tour of the city. Depart with a scenic drive through the modern areas of Rhodes. As you pass by the Mandraki Esplanade, you will see the government buildings, Church of Annunciation built 1925, a replica of the Old Church of the Knights of St John and the deer statues at the entrance of Mandraki port, your driver will then continue up to Monte Smith for panoramic views and photo opportunities of Rhodes and the Aegean Sea and view from the distance the Acropolis of Rhodes with its Ancient stadium nearby built 2nd Century BC.

Next, you will continue on to Rhodes Medieval City. Once your coach reaches the Gate d’Amboise, you will disembark and proceed to the Grand Masters Palace for a guided walking tour. The Palace was built in the 14th century A.D., destroyed in 1856 and rebuilt in 1939 by the Italians in order to accommodate the King of Italy, Emmanuel 11 and Mussolini.

You will then walk down the Street of the Knights, where you will see the many inns once occupied by the crusaders. At the end of the street, you will arrive at the Archaeological Museum, formerly the Knights Hospital, the museum was built in 1440 A.D., and is the most well-preserved building in the Old City.

During our visit, we will take a walking tour through the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets, and past the colorful courtyards and mosaics for which Lindos is famous. Ancient Lindos was the most important town on the Island, and has been inhabited for 5000 years. After our guided tour of the Acropolis, we will walk down to the village of Lindos for a visit to the Byzantine Church of the Ascension.

Medieval Walking Tour & Wine Tasting H/D 4 hours

  • Experience two sides of Rhodes! Discover medieval Rhodes and sample mouth-watering modern Greek wines on our Wine & Medieval History in Rhodes tour.

Magnificent medieval monuments, a beautifully preserved old town, and a private wine tasting. This exclusive half-day tour is perfect for wine lovers and history buffs who want to immerse themselves in the medieval history of Rhodes and discover why modern Greek wines are becoming so popular.

The Wine and Medieval History in Rhodes tour begins by introducing you to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Rhodes Town. Secured behind a deep moat within a double ring of lofty walls, the Old Town is like a medieval time capsule, transporting visitors back to the era of the Knights of St. John.

Our passionate, knowledgeable guide will lead you on a tour through the atmospheric, winding streets, pointing out medieval monuments and describing how the battles and sieges faced by the Hospitaller Knights shaped the town.

The walking tour concludes at the Palace of the Grand Masters, a 14th century fortified castle that was restored in the 1930s. Today it’s a museum housing medieval furniture, elaborate mosaics, and archaeological exhibits from across the island. Once you’ve finishing exploring the Palace, you’ll wander down the famous Street of the Knights, the best-preserved medieval street in Europe.

Our final destination is the Inn of Auvergne, built in 1507. We’ll settle into the beautiful back garden where you can taste award-winning local wines while lunching on traditional Greek meze.
