Piazzas & Fountains of Rome – walking tour
-
Rome – the Eternal City. This is what comes to mind when hearing the name of Italy’s capital. Rich with thousand year old monuments, it leaves its visitors thrilled and stunned by its beauty.
Each and every corner unveils that beauty in which we have always found written in history books. If you are eager to discover Rome’s best-kept secrets, this tour is the perfect choice for you! Quench your thirst for knowledge and join this three-hour guided visit. While strolling through the cobblestone streets, you will not only explore piazzas and fountains, but learn of exciting legends that your local guide is happy to share with you.
Your tour will start with a highlight – the city is full of beautiful piazzas, but Piazza Navona is arguably the most elegant one. Once a stadium, it is now the perfect place to explore the spirit of modern Rome. Dive into the Italian way of life and enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of this place, where colors, music, bars and events create a truly unique ambiance. Listen to the stories of the baroque Rome and fall in love with the Fountain of the Four Rivers by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Did you know the fountain represents the four angles of the earth with the Danube, the Ganges, the Nile, and the Rio? Discover every corner of this unforgettable square with your local guide!
Afterwards, you will be on your way to see the Pantheon. Built in 27 AD, this ancient temple is dedicated to the gods of the past, present, and future. By visiting this famous landmark, you can literally breathe in the history of ancient Rome. While admiring the biggest Roman concrete cupola in the world, your guide will provide you with legends behind this magical place.
After a dive into the past, it’s time to step into the present. Just a stone’s throw away from the ancient temple, you will find Colonna Square, which name dates back to the Marco Aurelio column. Located right in the centre of that same square, its majesty and elegance will take your breath away.
Being the heart of Rome’s bourgeois lifestyle, the square is surrounded by buildings of great importance such as Palazzo Chigi (seat of the Italian government), Palazzo Wedekind (historical place of business of Italy’s famous newspaper Il Tempo), Palazzo Ferrajoli (seat of the consulates of the regions Friuli Venezia Giulia and Valle d’Aosta) and the Alberto Sordi Gallery (historical meeting place of Rome’s high society).
Next, enjoy a luxury for the eyes and for the heart. Follow in the footsteps of the great movie director Fellini, who changed history with his masterpiece “La Dolce Vita”. Even 60 years after its release, the film still has a major influence on Italy’s image around the world. Take the chance and feel, at least for a few seconds, like Anita Ekberg and Marcello Mastroianni. The Trevi Fountain will not only offer you breathtaking views, but also beautiful photos to forever remember Rome.
To conclude this magical morning in Rome, you will be taken to the world-famous Piazza di Spagna, where you can admire the Barcaccia Fountain. Sculpted by Pietro Bernini and his son Gian Lorenzo, this fountain depicts a semi-submerged boat in an oval tank, surrounded by crystal-clear water.
The monumental Spanish Steps will lead you to the Church of the Trinità dei Monti, one of the 5 Francophone Catholic churches in Rome, and a lovely backdrop. In this eighteenth century atmosphere, you can finally give yourself a little rest and – why not – a bit of regenerating shopping among the high fashion boutiques, bringing you back to today’s glitz.

Tours starting from Naples
Best of Naples walking tour and underground ruins
-
Discover the enchanting Sorrento peninsula, traveling by a modern boat with a maximum of 12 people from Naples. Relax and enjoy the views amongst the scents and colors of the sea!
Your first stop will be Sorrento, the true heart of the Coastline, and where you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself into breathtaking and luxuriant landscapes. From here, you will meet your skipper for the day and board the boat to begin your fascinating journey along the Sorrento Coast.
During the journey from Sorrento to Amalfi, you can admire two gulfs: Naples and Salerno. Along the way, we will pass the picturesque villages of: Furore, Praiano, Conca dei Marini, Atrani, Minori and Erchie. As you take plenty of photos, the boat skipper will serve you a delicious aperitif. You will also have some free time to dip into the crystal clear water of the coast.
Once you arrive in Amalfi, the landscape will become increasingly romantic, with the sweetness of the climate and the beauty of villas leaning against one another. Do not miss the Cathedral of Sant’Andrea, patron saint of the city, dating back to the 6th century AD and the Civic Museum housed in the Palazzo Comunale.
After Amalfi, you will visit Positano, a truly postcard-worthy landscape situated on a cliff overlooking the sea. The town is world-famous not only for its stunning panorama, but also for the custom-made leather sandals and linen clothing. Piazza Flavio Gioia is the center of Positano and worth a visit to see the church of S. Maria Assunta, which has a majolica dome and black Madonna of Byzantine origin.

Burano is truly a dream come true for any photographer! Enjoy the colorful atmosphere as you explore the island.
The last stop on your tour will be Torcello, first center of Venetian civilization. The best of Milan: guided walk through the center with priority access to the Duomo Cathedral and its rooftop terraces
-
Discovering one of the most important European metropolises: Milan, famous everywhere as the fashion capital, has a lot of history and many curiosities that you can get to know on this tour. Starting from the wonderful Castello Sforzesco, you will go into the surrounding parks to admire the beauty of the structure, then cross some of the most beautiful and famous streets of the city until you reach the famous Teatro alla Scala, home to countless opera performances (and others) for over 200 years now. Afterwards you will pass through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the center of Milanese shopping that collects the stores of some of the most prestigious brands in the world, surrounded by a shimmering frame of iron and vaulted glass. From there you will proceed to the Duomo, the majestic cathedral symbol of Milan, skip the line and enter to observe it from the inside; not only that, but you will also take the lift to reach the summit and walk along the terraces, leaving you breathless with the incredible view they will give you. Before leaving, remember to say goodbye to the Madonnina, the 4-meter gold statue representing the Virgin Mary located at the highest point of the cathedral, which protects and observes the city.
