Day 1 Sunday: Cagliari
Arrival in Cagliari and transfer (group transfer – with other passengers) to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2 Monday: Cagliari – Nora – Cagliari
Breakfast and departure to Nora, an ancient city founded under the Phoenician’s control between the 9th and 8th centuries B.C. It was, during the Roman domination, the largest city in the island, becoming the capital of the Roman province of Sardinia. Return to Cagliari and panoramic visit of the city. Free time. Accommodation.
Day 3 Tuesday: Cagliari – Barumini – Oristano – Bosa – Alghero
Breakfast. Departure to Barumini, where we will visit the nerve complex of Su Nuraxi. Continue to Oristano. Time t leisure to visit the largest city in the West Sardinian. We will then continue our trip with a brief stop in the town of San Giovanni di Sinis, where the oldest Church of Sardinia is located, a Paleo-Christian jewel from the 6th century. We will continue our way until we reach Bosa, one of the most beautiful and most visited medieval towns in the North of Sardinia. Time at leisure to explore its small squares and alleys full of pink stone palaces, churches and its impressive Malaspina Castle that dominates the town. Departure to Alghero. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4 Wednesday: Alghero (Capo Caccia)
Breakfast and panoramic tour of the city where the Catalan past is still perceived today on the street signs. In its architecture, its cuisine, its dialect and its traditions. Afternoon at leisure or optional visit to the Promontory of Capo Caccia and the Grotto of Neptune, we will embark on the motor ship that will coast the Capo Caccia area to then enter the Grotto of Neptune, from where you can admire the magnificent sculptures of stalactites and stalagmites that are reflected in the crystal clear waters. Back to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 5 Thursday: Alghero – Sassari – Tempio Pausiana – Olbia
Breakfast. Departure to Sassari for a panoramic visit of what is considered the second most important city in Sardinia. Continue towards the Longudoru Region, where we will the most beautiful and important Romanesque Church in all Sardinia, the Church of the Holy Trinity of Saccargia, built in the 12th century according to the system introduced by the Pisan masters by alternating limestone and basalt material. We will continue to Tempio Pausania, a city built entirely of granite and enjoy some time at leisure to visit the city center. Continue towards Olbia passing through Calangianus, capital of cork (90% of the national production of Italy, with 3,000 workers, 20 industrial complexes and 180 artisan workshops). Arrival, dinner and accommodation.
Day 6 Friday: Olbia – Arzachena – Maddalena Archipelago – Costa Smeralda -Olbia
Breakfast and departure to Arzachena, where we will visit the Tomb of the Giants of Lu Coddhu Ecchju (or Calichera) and the Li Muri Necropolis. Continue to Palau where we will embark towards the Magdalena Archipelago. We will visit the most important of the major islands, the capital in Maddalena. You will have time at leisure to stroll through lively squares. Return by boat to Palau and continue to Porto Cervo where we will make a brief stop in what is considered the heart of the Emerald Coast and a paradise for VIPs. Return to Olbia. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 7 Saturday: Olbia – Excursion to Bonifacio, Corsica – Olbia
Breakfast. Today, we will enjoy an excursion to the neighboring island of Corsica, an island that the Greeks called “the sublime” and the French define as “the beautiful island”. We will leave for the port where we will take a ferry that will take us to Bonifacio, a town located in the south of the French island, considered one of the most beautiful on the island due to its privileged location on top of a rocky promontory of white calcareous stone. During our visit, we will be able to realize that Bonifacio is a fortress city that has been besieged and destroyed on numerous occasions and whose architecture is marked by the different conquerors that have passed through: the Pisans, the Genoese and the French. The city is divided into two parts: the marina, with the fishing and sports port which is somewhat reminiscent of Saint-Tropez and the old city with its tall houses and narrow alleys. In the afternoon we will return to our hotel in Olbia. Accommodation.
Day 8 Sunday – Olbia
Breakfast. Transfer to Olbia airport (or port). End of our services.
