Milos Tours

Discover Milos by boat

  • Starting from Adamantas, the first part of our trip consists of sightseeing in the bay of Adamantas. Sailing close to the east coast of the bay, we will pass the first Christian catacombs and the colourful village of Klima, where the statue of Venus de Milo was discovered. While you take beautiful photos you can also learn some historical facts and myths about the island, as a part of our guided tour. We will then reach the ‘Arkoudes’, the impressive 20ft bear-shaped rocks at the entrance of the bay to the east.

With the wind in our sails, we will reach Cape Vani. This impressive 30-meter tall rock that marks the west entrance of the bay was home to one of the first mineral mines of Milos. After seeing the old 19th-century mines quay, we will have our first swim at the bay of Kalogries in crystal clear turquoise waters.

Following our swim and some delicious snacks we set sail for Sykia, the biggest and most impressive cave of Milos. We anchor in the clear green waters of a bay nearby for a swim and take our small motorboat to visit the cave.

Next stop is Kleftiko; the old pirates-lair! This unique complex of white and grey rocks that form arches and caves, in combination with the crystalline emerald turquoise waters is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world! Snorkelling here is an amazing experience. We provide you with masks, flippers and after a few tips on what you can do, let you swim and explore.

Getting back to the boat, refreshments and ice-cold beers or traditional ouzo will be waiting for you and will be followed by a delicious meal and dessert. After we eat we take our dinghy and go explore the unique, diverse beauty of Kleftiko caves and passages and take pictures.

Leaving Kleftiko we head east towards our last stop, the bay of Gerakas, considered one of the islands’ best beaches. After a short swim, we get back to the boat where fresh fruit is waiting for us before we take off.

Poliegos Cruise from Milos

  • The cruise starts at 9:00 from the port of Adamas. We start our circumnavigation of the island heading northwest towards Cape Vani, an impressive 30-meter tall rock behind which the old 19th-century iron mine operated.

We continue sailing along the west side of the island till we reach our first swim stop, Sykia, the biggest cave in Milos. A short photo stop in front of the spectacular entrance and we will then stop for a 20-minute swim in the bay to the south of the cave, an old volcanic crater, with colorful rocks and crystal clear emerald waters; one of the best snorkeling points of the island. Brunch will be served when you come up from your swim.

Next destination, Kleftiko, the most famous place in Milos. The name actually means a place of thieves and derives from the fact that it was used for centuries by pirates as a hideout and lair. Our stop here will last 40 minutes and you will have the chance to swim and snorkel in caves and try our stand-up paddle. Refreshments and ice-cold beers will be waiting for you when you get back to the boat accompanied by many delicious snacks.

Leaving Kleftiko, we continue sailing along south Milos coastline, passing by the bay of Gerontas, and the famous beaches of Fyriplaka and Tsigrado, till we reach our next swim stop, the impressive bay of Gerakas, one of the best beaches in Milos, accessible only by boat. We will stop for more than 1 hour for swimming and lunch.

The trip continues along the south side of the island till we reach the east and Theiorychia, where the abandoned 1870s sulfur mines still stand creating a magnificent landscape. We take some photos and continue towards the island of Poliegos, the largest uninhabited Greek island and home to some of the most impressive waters in the Mediterranean.

Our main stop on this amazing island is the bay of Galazia nera, or blue waters, one of the best spots in Greece! Here we will enjoy our last swim for the day and some delicious desserts.

Heading back towards Adamas we will pass Glaronisia, the seagull islands, a rare geological phenomenon consisting, completely, of hexagonal-shaped lava rocks. A short photo stop here to admire the landscape and feed the seagulls.

The final part of our trip consists of sightseeing in the bay of Adamas. We will see ‘Arkoudes’, the impressive 20ft bear-shaped rocks at the entrance of the bay to the east and Klima where the statue of Venus de Milo was discovered. Our last stop is the famous old pirate bay Kleftiko, we go straight ahead for swimming and exploring the numerous sea caves!

Finally, we in our way to return we all the stunning places at the west coast of the island (Sykia, Agios Ioannis, Triades, Agathia and cape Vani). Also, we pass by Arkoudes, a complex of lava rocks, which takes its name by its characteristic shape; the form of a bear. Follows, the traditional fishing villages of Skinopi, Klima, Areti and Fourkovouni with the colorful little houses -called “sirmata”- built by the sea side.
